Moa DLO

DLO about moas

W.A.L.T Create our own DLOs about things.

For the past four weeks, I have been making a DLO about Moas.

I have enjoyed finding all of the answers for the Moa DLO.

I found finding the answers to the questions challenging.

Next time I will improve on making my DLO and I will work harder to finish it.

Professor Gargamals Experiment

Professor Gargamal had been locked away in his laboratory for days now, barely even stopping to eat, sleep or drink.

He rested his left arm on the dusty pile of books scattered across his desk, and with his right hand, he gently flicked the conical flask in front of him. The red and orange liquid inside coughed and sputtered as heat from the Bunsen burner excited it from below.

Professor Gargamal wiped his weary eyes; only the excitement of finally finishing the potion kept him awake. Just a few more hours, and then the potion will be ready to use. The day has gone by and the Professor didn’t go anywhere; he just waited and waited until the potion of swiftness and strength was ready to use. Boom, Kaplow the potion fell out of the bottle. The Fairytale Ending

 The Fairytale Ending

Timidly, she pushed back the branches and peered into the clearing. Sunshine drenched the ground as it poured through the canopy above. She felt warm for the first time she went on an adventure.

She had been following the trail of clues for days, and she had finally reached her destination. Were the stories true? Was this really the place people in her village had talked about for centuries?

She really hoped her own story would have a fairytale ending but what do you think will happen if she kept walking to the first light source she has seen for days or what will happen if she keeps on walking closer to the castle step by step?

THE END.

Skyrim

 W.A.L.T write 110 words in 10 minutes

Skyrim is one of my favorite games in the world. In Skyrim, you can fight/battle ancient warriors, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, werebears, and all kinds of different creatures my favorite beasts/animals to kill are giants and dragons. There are also lots and lots of missions and it is very hard to complete them all. In the whole entire world, there is only 1% of the world who has completed all of their quests.

Dayton's maths word problems

W.A.L.T Create our own maths word problems

This week I have created 1 math word problem.

This week I have learned how to properly create a math word problem and make it even better than my last math word problem I have created.

I have enjoyed finding all of the photos to use for the math word problem.

I found it challenging to think of a math word problem to write and draw about.

Next time I will improve on making harder types of math word problems.

Animals and their habitat

WALT: Increase our knowledge by reading a wide range of texts (Article a day - Book of Knowledge)

On Readworks, our task was to read the text, and then we had to write two or three sentences of what we have learned. I had fun reading and writing the text because it helped me learn more things about Animals and their habitat.

I have learned that each year we spend billions of dollars on our canine pals, making sure our lovable mutts have enough to eat and lots of toys to play with. I have also learned where our favorite four-legged animals (dogs) come from? How and when did dogs get to be our best friends? Some scientists believe they have found some of the answers.

Managing self DLO/Poster

W.A.L.T Create our own managing self DLO/Poster

This week I have been creating my own managing self DLO. People talk about and show others managing themselves so that their class or kids can manage themselves. Managing our self was a PB4L value for our school for a few weeks.

I found it challenging to write all of the ideas on my DLO.

I enjoyed finding the ideas for the DLO.

From now on I will try to make three/four slides about managing myself.

Ecology

W.A.L.T Increase our knowledge by reading a wide range of texts (Article a day - Book of Knowledge)

On Readworks, our task was to read the text, and then we had to write two or three sentences of what we have learned about the text. I had fun reading and writing about what I knew about the text because it helped me learn more things about living things and their habitat.

I have learned that ecology is about nature and life. I have also learned that the bee eats the flower’s sweet nectar. The flower is also full of pollen. Pollen is a substance that looks like dust. When the bee buzzes off, it carries some of the flower’s pollen away on its feet and wings. I also enjoyed writing and summarising about living things and their habitat. I found it challenging to reading the topic about living things and their habitat. Next time I will improve on writing more than three sentences and I will try to write four.

Making Harakeke bracelets

W.A.L.T write a blog post about what we did and made a tech

This week I have created one bracelet made out of Harakeke. After two days it looks like it's losing its color.

I learned how to make a Harakeke bracelet.

I enjoyed folding the Harakeke to make the bracelet.

I found it challenging at the start of making the bracelet because I did not know what to do until I was nearly finished.

Next time I will improve on folding the Harakeke bracelet better so the bracelet does not have fat bumps on it.

Quick write

WALT: write a story in 10 minutes

This week for writing I had to write a story in 10 minutes. It was hard and fun and this is what I did.

With the weather closing in, and the night about to fall the survivors hear a wolf call. looking around to find the wolf they keep on looking and looking. They went away from camp to find the wolf and then some alien bandits came to steal the survivor's rocket boost and their yummy dinner. After the survivors got back to the camp they had a three-headed wolf but they looked around and most things were gone. They went to look for their gear to finish their rocket ship to get back to their home planet and then when they looked inside a cave where they saw light coming out of the other side. When they walked in they found their stuff but it was inside another rocket ship that was getting ready to blast off so they jumped in and went back to planet earth.

Math word problems

W.A.L.T  work out math word problems

For this task, we had to do 2 math word problems each day during the week. We also had to read the question and then we had to work it out. This was very tricky because I did not know if it was division, multiplication, subtraction, or addition.

Shake out

 W.A.L.T Drop, Cover, and Hold

This morning my class and I had to do an earthquake drill at 9.30. We did this drill to see if we know what to do when there's an earthquake. We had to first drop onto the floor and then second drop underneath a table or a desk after that when you are covered by a desk or a table hold onto the table legs around you.

I learned what to do during an earthquake event.

I enjoyed going under my desk while we were practicing for an earthquake.

Next time I will be sensible while I am under my desk.
