Nonrenewable Energy Sources

WALT: Increase our knowledge by reading a wide range of texts (Article a day - Book of Knowledge)

On Readworks, our task was to read the text, and then we had to write two or three sentences of what we have learned.  I had fun reading and writing the text because it helped me learn more things about energy sources.

I have learned that energy sources are of two types: nonrenewable and renewable. Energy sources are considered nonrenewable if they cannot be replenished (made again) in a short period of time. On the other hand, renewable energy sources such as solar and wind can be replenished naturally. I have also learned that all fossil fuels are nonrenewable, but not all nonrenewable energy sources are fossil fuels coal, crude oil, and natural gas are all considered fossil fuels because they were formed from the buried remains of plants and animals that lived millions of years ago.
